Itinerary

DAY 01: Arrival at Bangalore

On arrival at Bangalore, you will be received by a representative of Floohoo. Bangalore, often referred to as the ‘Silicon Valley’ of India, is vibrant, cosmopolitan metropolis. You will be transported to your hotel. You are then free to spend the rest of the day at leisure. You could opt to explore the city. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 02: Bangalore to Mysore (3HR Drive to cover 150 KM)

After breakfast you will be transported to Mysore, sometimes referred to as the ‘Royal City’.
After checking in to your hotel you will embark on a guided tour of Mysore. Your tour will begin with a visit to the stunningly beautiful Mysore Palace, a defining landmark in Mysore. Your guide will narrate the history of the palace, of the family of rulers that lived here and their significance in the history of South India. Later you will visit the church dedicated to St. Philomena and then the Mysore market.
After lunch you will visit the ancient fort at Srirangapattana, situated at a short distance from Mysore, to visit the summer palace and fort of Tipu Sultan, an erstwhile ruler of Mysore. You will then return to Mysore and drive to the top of Chamundi Hill where you will visit a temple dedicated to a Hindu goddess named Chamundeswary. Descending the hill on your return to Mysore you will see enormous statues of a mythological figures from Hinduism, of a demon named Mahishasura and a celestial black bull named Nandi.

DAY 03: Mysore to Hassan (02:30HR Drive to cover 120KM)

After breakfast, you will be transported to Hassan, en route stopping to visit Shravanbelagola a very important centre for pilgrimage for the Jain community. In Shravanbelagola you will see a monolithic statue (largest in Asia) set on top of a hillock, made of stone, representing the Jain spiritual leader Bahubali, commissioned by Chavundaraya – an ancient military commander in the area. The statue is 17.38m high and its base displays numerous inscriptions in languages, some that have been deciphered and others arcane. On conclusion of this visit, you will stop en route to Hassan for lunch. On arrival at Hassan, check in to your hotel and spend the rest of the evening at leisure.

DAY 04: Hassan

After breakfast you will embark on a tour of Hassan and its surroundings. The town is situated 935 metres above sea level with salubrious weather similar to Bangalore. Named after the ancient Hasanamba temple, Hassan has had an eventful and rich history, attaining the height of its glory during the rule of the Hoysalas.
You will be visiting two exciting temples Named Belur and Halebidu are the best-known temples of the Hoysala dynasty. The Belur and Halebid temples give a glimpse of Hindu temple art at its glorious best of the 16th century. They are famous for their carvings and splendid architecture. The Hoysalas improved on the Chalukyan style of architecture by constructing extremely elaborate temples in many parts of Karnataka noted for the sculptures in the walls, ceilings, curved pillars and many more. They followed Dravidian architecture style of construction.
