Itinerary

DAY 01: Arrival at Paro International Airport

The flight takes you rite above the Himalayas which offers you the magnificent aerial view of the whole stretch of eastern Himalayas including Everest, the tallest mountain in the world with 8848 m. You could also see the sacred snow peak Himalayas of Bhutan.

With the beautiful flight experience you will be approaching to land at the Paro International Airport in Bhutan. You will have the most amazing landing experience at Paro, the most silent and peaceful airport in the world. After your immigration formalities while you walk towards the arrival gate our guides and driver will be eagerly waiting for you outside. After offering you the white scarf and the short introduction we will start our drive to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan.

On the way, we will make a short refreshing stop over the oldest swinging suspension bridge of Bhutan from 15th century. The pictures with the crystal clear river in Paro would be the picture of the day.
Reaching Thimphu, we will check in to the hotel and relax. Evening you can stroll around the city.

DAY 02: Thimphu –Sightseeing

After our leisurely breakfast, we will start our city sightseeing in Thimphu. We will circumambulate around the stupa, known as Memorial Chorten along with folks, chanting the prayers and making some good wishes for the good fortune and good day ahead. Indeed it’s here where you could see the ethnic group of locals for some portrait pictures from Bhutan.

Buddha Statue will be the main highlight in Thimphu. 169 ft. tall, overlooking whole Thimphu valley is the main attraction in Bhutan with the most expensive cost of the project. It also offers us the most amazing landscape view of the mountain surrounding the valley.

Changangkha Lhakhang, will be another oldest Buddhist temple in Thimphu from 12th century. We will get to see lot of folks with their young born babies for naming ceremony and blessings. We will get to see some monks chanting with their trumpets, flutes, drums and counch shell.

Takin’s reserved area, the best place to see the unique national animal of Bhutan, which has the head of the goat and the body of a cow.

Lunch in the city as per our own choice and after our Lunch we will check the local centenary farmers market to see some organic vegetable and fruits.

DAY 03: Thimphu – Punakah | Drive: 2 Hours | Altitude: 3150 meters

After our breakfast we will start our drive to Punakha Valley, the most beautiful valley in Bhutan. Dochula Pass is the most beautiful motorable pass in Bhutan with 180 degree view of the Himalayas. The stop here is the most breathtaking with the serene nature and 108 stupas with the backdrop of sacred Himalayas.

After our short tea break we will start our drive to Punakha valley. At Punakha, we will visit the unique and historical 15th century temple, commonly known as Chemi Lhakhang.

In the afternoon we will visit the Nunnery overlooking the Punakha valley with its amazing view of the terraces farming far below.

Towards the evening we will check in to our hotel.

DAY 04: Punakha – Sightseeing

After our leisurely breakfast we will start our sightseeing in Punakha. In the morning depending upon your convenient we will go for the morning hike for 45 minutes uphill to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten and rest of us we would love to enjoy at riverside at the starting point of the hike. We also have the interesting white water river rafting (choices of the clients) with pre booking of the boats.

We will order some picnic lunch or a catering near the river and afternoon we will visit the longest suspension bridge of Bhutan. After that we will visit the most important and historical fortress in Bhutan known as Punakha Dzong, located in between the two river.

In the evening, we will go for a walk on our own.

DAY 05: Punakha – Phobjikha Valley | Drive: 2 Hours | Altitude: 3200 Meters

With the healthy morning breakfast we will start our drive to Phobjikha valley, popularly known as mini Switzerland in Bhutan.

The drive to Phobjikha valley itself is the highlight of the day. We will soak ourselves with the blooms of rhododendron. This valley has the varieties of the rhododendron and other wild flowers which we called this place as “Nature’s Garden” planted by no one but the flowers everywhere.

We will also stop at Gangtey monastery, the 15th century’s Buddhist monastery with Ningmapa sect of Buddhist monk.

Depending upon our own convenient we will also go for the nature hike around the valley for 2 hours.

Evening we will check in to our hotel and relax.

DAY 06: Phobjikha Valley – Paro | Drive: 4 Hours

After our breakfast we will retrace our journey back to Paro via Dochula Pass and Thimphu. Reaching Paro, we will stroll around the Paro town and hunt for some souvenirs or enjoy playing the Bhutanese outdoor activities like Archery and darts game wearing Bhutanese national dress called gho and kira.

In the evening we will check in to our hotel and relax

DAY 07: Paro – Taktsang Hike

After our early breakfast we will start our drive to the Tiger’s Nest base camp for our hike. It may take the whole day today to visit the most holy and revered Buddhist temple in the world, where without visiting Tiger’s Nest temple the Bhutan tour would be incomplete.

Afternoon relax and plan accordingly if time permit.

DAY 08: Chele la Pass – Excursion | Drive: 3 – 4 Hours | Altitude: 3988 meters

After our leisurely breakfast we will drive upto Chele la Pass, the highest motorable pass in Bhutan with the height of 3988 meters above the sea level. It also has a beautiful landscape view of the mountain.

In the afternoon, if we wish we will also visit the Paro national museum, which houses the antique from 16th, 17th, and 18th century’s art and artifacts.

Evening we will stroll around the town.

DAY 09: Paro – Phuenthsoling | Drive: 5 – 6 Hours

After our leisurely breakfast, we will start our drive to the south of Bhutan, which gives you the example of subtropical broad leaved forest. The drive also has lot of viewpoint for the waterfall around.

Lunch on the way at some of the local restaurant and towards the late afternoon we will check in to our hotel and stroll around the Phuentholing town, which is rite next to Jaigon in India, under west Bengal.

DAY 10: Phuetsholing – Bagdogra airport – back home

After our breakfast, your India car will pick you up to drop you at the Bagdogra airport.
